Crate Keys issues

Hi all,

It has been bought to many player's attention that the crate keys that were added roughly 2 weeks ago seem to have no use, at the moment. I'd like to know the purpose of releasing Key's just 2 months after the last for no beneficial use. We got introduced to the new Nightmare Crates that seem like they will stay as Instant-open crates at this point. Many players who invested in the keys thought they'd have a use at some point soon which isn't likely with everything currently going on now. Like they say in with the new out with the old, same scenario with the nightmare crates and twilight, twilight aren't worth opening by the seems of it.

A couple suggestions to make Keys useful this cap.

1) Make keys useable to open Nightmare Crates (A option to choose Keys or Plat)

2) Make Nightmare Crates droppable at some point in the expansion, if so very soon. Atm crates can only be opened at the 66 cap, so Crates dropping from Raid or Dailies seems fair.

No, i don't have many i am not hoarding. I bought a couple kits to open nightmare crates although that isn't the case now.

Maybe they do drop in raid zone but no one has looted yet.

It's not a gold sink, It's completely up to the player that decides whether to take his chances. Some are unfortunate, some are lucky. This isn't similar to the non-tradeble vanities in kraag or the 66k dreamscape entrance, with the vanities they are bound and it's a gold sink same applies for dreamscape runs. Opening Crates with keys on the other hand gives you loot in return which like i said can be unfortunate or fortunate for the player.

Its only been a week since expansion start bro..relax im sure sts will find a way for f2p player for have a chance to open/loot this crate....all you had to do is wait

The sooner the better, Keys will be useless if the items in the nightmare crates depreciate.

I agree with option one.
Many players stocked up on 50 crate keys prior to the expansion expecting the be able to either use them or new gears or to sell at a higher price. With nightmare crates being opened only via platinum, it's hard to see the price going up a significant amount.

I doubt new crates have the same eggs and arcanes that the old ones do. So yes keys useless for new crates but still useful for all the old ones.

How are they useful for the old ones? look at the prices of crate keys you'll notice that majority of the arcanes/mythics in twilights have lost it's value only eggs worth obtaining are glowstik and the heroic which the odds are pretty low already, if taking probability into account the keys aren't useful for twilights as you will most likely be at a loss rather than profit.

+1 I also bought keys to open new locks & to my surprise we can't. On top of that I have plats buy still can't open cuz its lvl 66only, this is stupid...

This is for the good of the community this has nothing to do with "merchers/hoarders", it does in a sense relate but thats not the purpose, the purpose is that they released these keys in such a hurry, players invested in them with the upcoming expansion or the ursoths assault and are then told the crates are instant. This isn't bad decision it is common for sts to release droppable crates, it's been that way for almost all expansions till now, why would the community see a sudden change? They won't so this isn't a bad decision in any way, players always invest and it's always been positive.

The should update the locked crates to nightmare ones. Don't know why they haven't yet. Can't even farm them.

Guess the dev chose to ignore/not take notice of the a particular amount of the communities suggestion. As they are still sticking with instant-open nightmares which now have a new arcane egg and arcane belts, gg.

Well, it's their game their decision. I fully understand than they need to make money to survive. If this is what it takes and they're successful at it so be it. Just the free to play players are "slightly" left behind xD

Yes they need to make money, but that's not entirely the point, they are a company that develops apps (games), enhances and maintain. So with money comes interacting with the community, if all they care about is money then i guess they shouldn't work for a game company.
It's the sad truth.

Someone had to buy the keys with platnum in the hope that they will sell them or use them. That is how STS made money to begin with but then they decide actually let's not do anything related to keys. When crate keys were annouced after cancelling the plan to launch the expansion a week later, many people assumed the keys were released because they would have new locks to open in the expansion. It's been a week and still no nightmare crate available. I will be annoyed if nightmare dont become available at least until Elondrian Event or the items available in twilight or blood leaf type crates which can be opened with keys.

Yeah, definitely look weird to do a keys sale and then release crates that can't be opened with those keys. :)
