So far the event I haven't made any gold yet and all I have been doing is spending gold and then farm maus 5-6 to make the gold back then use it up... Is there anyway I can make gold without farming maus 5-6?

Ursoth's assault /Elondrian event . Normally starts July 1 every year but this year the expansion came first and the event it's a little late. It will start though (probably this Thursday ,idk for sure).😊 Now about what Hulksteroids asked, the only NEW way to make gold is by opening nightmare massives -.- Each crate gives 10k-25k along with elixirs that you can sell and of course the set and arcane items. In this new mini expansion there is no farming . So we have to stay back to mausoleum 5-6 or maybe some artifact farming too.
If you have reach cap level i suggest you take a break since there is nothing to do :)

Farm elite War chests (norder) , elite gold puzzle chests(shyual) and elite chest from kraken map..
Take daily relatable orc inhalation quest to Farm elite king map for fangs and gold runner and gold from quest reward.
U can farm Elite southern gate bosses for gold.
Farm locks in shyual
There are lots of things with good gold ...
