How do you people make a lot of credits for example 100k? I would like to know how to do it so I can buy my own things for once.

There are a few ways of earning creds, the easiest way is buying plat, and trade it for creds. But only trade when the deal of the day is 100 plat for 35000 creds (best value). There are some other ways, like playing a lot of instances, or invest in the auction market, (never tried that before but theoretically it should work).

Wow... ummm moving aside.. you need to farm as much new gear/items as possible, watch and learn the market. The way some have made 100k+ is by dropping a Vanity or Pink (not me but other players). Some have smart merchant skills and able to make cred bit by bit in auction to finally get 100k.
Here's a little guide, tho its not for SL it has the basics of Farming and Merchant skills.
