There are pvp player in SL(even though there is no pvp yet). There is a pvp guild full of PL pvp players, waiting for pvp in SL.

They're not PvP Players then, you can't be a PvP "player" when there is no PvP to play.

Perhaps they're virtually playing PvP while it doesn't yet exist in the virtual reality of SL yet. Kind of like virtual squared. (I think I just sprained something in my brain just thinking that.)
