i heard a rumour that PVP for Sl was coming soon in conjunction with the SL Chrome thing. any confirmation on this??

PvP is supposed to be coming at some point. As far as "soon"....well. Keep an eye out in the Announcements section; I'm sure the Devs will give us a heads-up when it's headed our way. :)

We have not made any announcements regarding PvP in SL other than we think it will be cool, but there are a lot of balance considerations.

New Free Roam Maps?
What do you think about adding new free roam maps to SL? It would be nice to explore the bases of the different kinds of maps that are avalible. We need new maps that we can just roam around in kind of like in PL and the current free roam maps like. UCS and numa prime are just an example.
