View Full Version : Setting up iPad up to tv NEED HELP

I have iPad,Digital AV Adapter, HDMI cord, VIZIO tv with HDMI ports. Anything else required for this? I plugged in everything got some sound and picture only when watching videos. I checked the HDMI port made sure on right HDMI channel, connections are secured. Should i be able to see everything on my iPad on the tv? Any setting should i change on either iPad or TV? Any suggestions, anyone else have the same problem? Help would be appreciated.
Do you mind showing us some screenshots of your problem? I think I have a vague idea with what's going wrong.

iPad1 or iPad2?
only iPad2 outputs screen to HDMI i think. Although iPad1 does output to HDMI for 'presentation mode' only, but does use VGA adaptor also for this I think.
I have iPad2 and works great with apple adaptor and HDMI lead... post here if you need more info....

iPad1 does have limited functionality but doesn't do full screen mirroring

Correct. No problems on iPad to TV output on my iPad 2. As easy as connect the wires together.
I'm not entirely sure, but iPad 1 would require some type of Jailbreak?
