Why is vial of ectoplasm so expensive?

So I came back to the game after a pretty long break. A few days go by and I'm sorting through my inventory trying to clear stuff out. I remembered that I had around 200 vials of ectoplasm in my inventory (when I quit playing for a bit you could buy them off auction for 10k each). I bought as many as I could afford figuring that it was the safest possible investment as they had a liquidation price of 10k each, so I couldn't lose any money. I looked in AH and it says they go for 600k each now!!! Is that the street price for real? And why did the value rise so high?

Sts nerfed the drop rate of vials from arena chest because the drop rate was very high.
Now getting vial from arena is nearly impossible or maybe the drop rate will be around 1/1000.
The vials you see in auction are mostly dropped from elite mobs in tindrin.

And last but not the least if u still have the vials then good luck selling it for 600k each and you will be able to get around 12m and u could make a 10m profit.
If you don't have then i feel sorry for you.

I did the complete opposite I liquidated 100 vials for 10k each when they were low -_- gz you just made alot of gold :D
