Questions about crafting Voice Set

Hi, I am planning to craft Voice set Armor. As you can see in the screenshot, the ingredients needed to craft the Voice robe is another Voice robe. It doesn't make any sense to me.

Can anyone please explain to me?

If you look at the first voice helm ( or any other gear type ), it does not require a voice helm. [ I am not luminous Templar so I can only craft helm and ring ]

If you click (I) on the item, you will notice there are 4 different types of robe.

E.g. let’s pretend you have one of those chest and you get a hextone but you want a hexblast. So instead of crafting a whole new unidentified chest. You can use significantly less ingredient to make a new chest to have a chance at the type of helm you want by using the already crafted helm.
