Elite is pronounced ee-leet. Leet is a shortened version. 1 looks like an L, the 3s are Es, and the 7 is a T.

OMG O.O I have seen the number 1337 all throughout the forums and SL. For instance asommers k/d ratio is 1337, wierd, and spooky O.O oh ya and substituting numbers for letters is called leet-speak kinda wierd cuz it's like 1337 = leet and it's leet-speek O.O
