Which should I choose?

If I'm a str/dex bear, and would like to deal damage while tanking, which set suits me most?

Rift: Sunblessed scimitar/Gurgox hammer
Shadow sets: Hate/death talon

I used Hate/ Gurgox hammer from 50-59 and honestly, I outperformed many bears with pure tank gear all the way up to 59.

Hate is arguably the best 50 set and for damage dealing it can't be beat, unless of course you use death items. If youd like to see how it works in action or would like to borrow for a test run (but not keep!!!! I love my set!!!) my hate+ gurg hammer set, shoot me a pm and a friend request and I'll let you try it out :)



Btw I think I'm the only bear who *effectively* tanks with a 2H weapon, lol.

Thanks :) But I'm not lvl50 yet. Did you die a lot using a 2h weapon? And doesn't gurgox hammer deal more damage than hate battlesword? Someone told me that the gurgox hammer deals the most damage. Also, I want the hax set because I think the shield is cooooool lol ;) but I love skill dmg... ahhhhh it's so hard to decide...

Gurgox adds most to your skill dmg and also auto-attack dmg, as far as I know. Tanking with 2H weps work, but you'll have to be prepared to spam those health pots. The hax set isn't half bad dmg wise either. The hax auto attack also procs with HS (execution proc, gives fairly high chance for an extra dmg roll).

Personally I'd go for hate, and gurgox/or better even sentinel shotgun set for bosses.

Hate hax sets offers some nice armor and crit, although I've always been a death talon set fan. Gurgox hammer is lots of damage, but not so tanky. I'd carry one around and only pull it out at bosses, otherwise, use hate hax set or death talon set (really preference. Hax set offers more armor, and crit. Talon set offers a bit more dodge and range. They're both fairly similar in the survivability category) for tanking. A living tank is a happy tank :stupid:
