There is another bug in main menu screen when you click klass or shazbot the "Visit Ally" pop up doesnt come up,instead your screen brightness goes dark and you cant go back only way to fix is to restart game.

Old bug. If you quit to menu, then click on the specific ally, it will work. It's like it doesn't check that an Ally is available, even though you are standing in front of the Ally with a yellow exclamation mark over its head. If you have Shazbot available, going to Shazbot and from him, using Alert to go to Klaas will make it work also.
I have also logged in and see in the initial menu that no allies are available but once in, if I open Alerts, all the allies are available. This seems to be the case only with the toons I play most often.
Haven't seen the black screen (yet).
