Workaround for guys with Samsung Galaxy SII and game freezes

Hello guys, it's me again. As many of you know our SGSII doesn't like Pocket/Star Legends, as game crashes every few minutes/hours. Before i was using Lite'ning 1,5 later Lite'ning 6,1 ROMs and finally i've stopped playing PL at al as i wanted to use latest ROMs. Until last night.
As always, solution/workaround was found at xda-developers.com

What you will need:

-Samsung Galaxy SII (I9100)
-Latest (2.2+) SiyahKernel (http://www.gokhanmoral.com/gm/) (currently i use v2.2 beta5.1)
-Tegrak's app 2nd Core (http://tegrak2x.blogspot.com/2011/11/2nd-core.html)
-ANY ROM you like :)

What to do:

-Flash SiyahKernel (don't even ask me how to)
-Install 2nd Core app
-Open 2n Core app and select option "Single Core Mode"
-Play any game you like

Yes, this will disable one processors core, but don't worry too much about the performance - SGSII easily can handle Pocket Legends even with one core ;) Also, you can enable it again in just two clicks, no reboot needed.
Ironically, gokhanmoral (thanks for kernel) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=289089) and tegrak (thanks for app and many other things) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=3484113) most likely have no clue on how big job they did. Originally this kernel and app were made to save the battery life.

So, try this workaround and report back. If it worked for you, register on xda and say thanks to these guys, they are amazing!

PS. I believe there was much more people involved in creating this kernel and app, so thank you too.

Hi,
i confirm the solution found at XDA DeV.

Installed android 2.3.5 official (GT-I9100_XEO_I9100XXKI4_I9100OXAKI4_I9100XXKI4.tar.md 5) (link & tutorial at XDADEV)
Then Root phone with Siyah-v2.2beta6 (can be found at XDA too)
install 2nd core from market and disable second core (it is hotplug)

This is important you use 2.3.5, because i never be able to use 2nd core from 2.3.4

I played about 50 hours since without any disconnection. Now i am nearly L66 :) ^^

nevermind it takes like 10 minutes to figure out how to flash it. Very simple to root then flash. PL works fine now the single core still over works and device gets hot (anyway to stop device getting hot)? BTW PL isnt in the market place neither is SL is this becuase of location or device? anyway i heard rooting can fix this problem but it didnt work for me when i rooted...can someone help please?

haha! after saying this i got annoyed with pl freezing so i did it and played 1 game without a problem! ;)
