Massive Loced Marvelous Crate Dont Need Platinum To Open?

One of my friend told me massive loced crate dont need platinum to open.So,I bought from auction and found it didnt need platinum to open.Is this bug or was made like that before?

Initially, the crate could be bought for 30 platinum from the store, but it was a bug that instead of opening it directly, it appeared in ones inventory. So, some of those are probably still floating around.
