I’m fairly new to pocket legend and don’t know much about the Community Shield. Should an updated community shield event occur again? Maybe we will have players helping one another. Any thoughts...

I’ve always liked the community shields/guardians of alterra, but a handful of devs back in the day saw some unwarranted behavior as a result of this.

The Guardian's of Alterra was a program awarded to players of Pocket Legends by Sts. They where given the "community sheild" by Sts.
All i have to say is lets keep some items exclusive. If we want to bring back a different type of community shield thats ok but we've already brought back so much.

Agreed.
In the recent past I had briefly suggested the following to the studio.
//Guardians of Alterra 2018 program with a new and improved GOA 2018 shield design. Players might enjoy seeing this program back on a yearly basis, much like Yelp Elite 2017, 2018 (so, new shields and inductees every year). It's always good to get the community engaged and promote a helpful, friendly environment and to recognize those who are great contributers.//
I don't really care if it were to happen or not, but it seemed like a good idea on the surface at the time it was suggested.
