If your achievement points are high enough, you'll be placed in top player (of your class and eventually overall) leaderboard. You have to stay there until the season ends to get special, non-tradeable banner.

In 2017 you can break the ranks of the common leaderboard.
But in 2014 you could have made it to the hardcore AL- China server LB.

I don't know if the server is still functioning. But yes, a special Chinese server was made in 2014-15

Btw if you translate that page you will find the interviewer asking JustG directly how much income does AL generate lol...that's when I realised this was a totally legit asian interview.
