It just means the egg icons will be colored to reflect their rarity. Previously only legendary/mythic/arcane/heroic were colored properly.

This should be working again (the new ios version isn't out yet, but google fixed whatever had broken on their end).

I have noticed that this happens in hydra bog- if you kill the smaller head before it shows 'the hydra is no longer enraged' the head is reset again and you have to kill it once again to make the hydra vulnerable. Are you guys planning on fixing it?

Oh! I am so dense lol! Only took me a 10+ days to realize why pet eggs used to all be Pinks, especially the quest/free ones: because of the rarity/re-roll tables.

With the gift/quest eggs at low levels now Common rarity or low rarities, they get awarded all the time now lol, including with the quests. I used to wonder about all those egg quests that just did not award eggs; well, now they do lol. Not sure it's a bad thing, but man, I am dense haha.
