[Suggestion] Regarding Mute

I would like a message to be posted on chat when someone is muted and when you PM them, you get a message saying how long they have left.

That is all. XD

SIDE NOTE: Maybe we can have a Dunce Hat like someone mentioned or a Space Chimp Monkey pets on our backs doing the see no evil, speak no evil, and hear no evil signs on us. XD

Wow, that is a pretty good suggestion! I'm not saying "wow" because I assume you are not full of great suggestions... I'm saying "wow" because I can't believe I didn't think of it!! lol!!

I just do the crying emote over and over again until someone says "Muted?" then do the "Yes" emote. Telling a story without words is what we mimes do best! That, and pulling on invisible ropes and being trapped in invisible boxes.

I don't have all of the emotes just the ones without having to get with plat so I just smh with the "No way" emote. XD

WIN! Loving this, though it would be abused and im sure if your muted a certain amount of times you may get "Look at me, Look at me im going to get a Dunce hat " Then.... they disappear from the face of B* with a msg BAN! ;D

Yeah the unexpected (and oft unexplained) mute can damage the community. Perhaps rather than an out of the blue mute, there were some other disincentive which might not be subject to abuse and which was more understandable by other players. Twice, i was having very good conversations with ppl and they were unexpectedly muted and i had no idea. I think until we see the muting resolved the community needs to implement a *universal* mute representation.

Any suggestions? Emotes might not work...for obvious reasons. Perhaps a muted character could remove all gear except for their helmet and run face-forward into a corner to show ppl that they have been stricken dumb? This might get the message across and is somewhat an unexpected type of action.

Lets get some ideas and propagate a solution to this in the general forums!

yea i agree with this too! if im talking to my friends and i accidentally get muted what i do is start spamming emoticons..sometimes they get it sometimes they dont or the usual we ask, "Dance if yur muted" thing

I'd rather they let the option to filter chat do its job. Make it so there is some kind of parental control, like a v chip. Passworded so, if a parent deems it so, can prevent child from turning off the filter.

Meanwhile: the rest of us responsible players can talk free from random muted that seem to come out of nowhere sometimes.

I garanteee you, people who are obnoxious will be reported. The community does a good job policing itself. It will continue to do so.

Hindering everyone to prevent people from experiencing what is in every game chat, teamspeak, ventrillo, xbox live match in existence... Seems excessive.

Being muted cause I said, "sorry bud, but I am rather a nal about the rules and can't let you do that" accidentally not thinking about a phrasing that is absolutely proper but would flag the system....

Anyone that's played this game for more than 5 minutes knows people just get around it anyways. Bo o b for example. Or remove the c from Fxxx. No one is fooled or being protected from language or the intent of a message.

And every 10 year old knows what gtfo and Wtf etc means.

The mute system, although commendable (i hate xbox live chat for example), seems unnecessary.

Have faith that people are, for the most part, good and hate chat abuse. Have faith that we want a clean game game and will police it appropriately.

If you are afraid that this will drastically increase player reports to the degree that you do not have the staff to handle the volume, hire me. I'll work for minimum wage and be awesome at it. 13 years managerial experience baby!
