View Full Version : Why not let the Community design a campaign

Who knows what the players want in a campaign better than us, the players? So why doesnt sts let us help them design the next campaign. We can draw up weapons, the theme, bosses, mobs, boss mechanics, quests and loot for the campaign! This would be great and we could make the campaign that we all want! So why not? I think it would be fun. Lets start now- what type of campaign do we want? Like lava, beach/underwater, viking islands, pirates, etc. Once we get that down we could make the gear, quests, bosses, etc and send it into the devs- saying this is what we want in a campaign.
Feel free to discuss, comment, add ideas and select the type of campaign we want!

Could be very interesting....
Thinking about it it could really be developed stage by stage by the community...
First stage picking a theme..... Lots of discussion, ideas and a final poll of some sort.
Next, some more detail, ideas and another poll
Finally, some fine detail, ideas and drawings....
Could be a real community lead but STS driven project, sweet.
(or would that be STS lead and community driven?)

I think this would bring the community together, especially since there have been some players that say some they feel ignored or not involved enough.
Plus this idea sounds so fun!

OK ill put out my personal idea for the campaign- Viking islands. In the far north, surrounded by icy seas is the viking clans (we would call them valharists in PL). The main story focusses on a crertain viking tribe who are struggling to fend off the frost giant raiders. But then the plot thickens- and an corrupt Valharist tribe joins the Ice giants. The quests lead us on an adventure to save the clan and the rest of the valharist from the giants and evil valharists. The bosses could be giants and evil alharists as well as trolls, and sea monsters. There could even be a few levels where we dive down to the bottom of the sea and get the mermaids to join us in our cause (we would do quests to get breathing apparatuses. Or there could be under water levels that require a creation amount of time to complete before we drown (there could be air pocket checkpoints along the level. The loot would be bone and steel gear. Like horn bows, long sears and shields, thrown axes, and bone staffs and totem wands.
Just my idea. Whats yours?

Just my idea. Whats yours?A cloud city at the top of Mt. Fang. You have the Ursan Weald, home of the bears...this could be the home of the avians. Plus, it'd be a fairly logical path going to the top of Mt. Fang into the clouds.
I like the idea. To avoid too much controversy and hurt feelings, there should be a poll for theme and then allow all players to draw ideas for weapons, armor, etc.
