Question About Event Length

This is probably a redundant question, but I thought I would verify the length of the event. Has STS stated how long this winter event will be lasting? I did not see a length date on the official winter event thread and went through 7 or so pages and I keep hearing 3 weeks but I never remember an event being 3 weeks so I thought I'd ask just to make sure if someone knows or if a dev can answer.

If it ends Jan 9 so it ends on a wednesday not on a typical thursday???

I think Thursday is the 24 hours cooldown time.
