As a way to display my work to the general public, I have a deviant art account in which I post my art pieces. What I've noticed with modern day distinguished artists is that they have their own websites that feature their portfolio, along with their contact info and such. I've decided that I want to go this route, especially since its more proffesional aesthetically, but I'm a total noob at web page design, or creating a website at all for that matter.

Is there anyone here that could provide me with pointers?

Go look at my site http://danielrharris.com
