Just a fun little tourney to throw some competition into what I feel is one of the more balanced levels :)

RULES AS WELL AS GEAR UPDATED

THE MAP IS FOREST FIGHT

Type of tournament-
Double elimination tournament, there will be a winners and losers bracket. Each match will consist of 3 games, it will be best 2 out of 3 to ensure fairness. The matches will be FFA styled.

Rules-
1. Gear~
The gear allowed in this tournament will consist of sandstone cave gear ONLY. There will be no rings, or gear outside of that. WHITE rings bought with platinum will be the only rings available. I’m only adding these because there’s no way to know if a player isn’t using one or not. So to avoid cheating they ARE allowed.
2. Players in arena~
This will be a fair 2v2 with both players who have signed present. There will be no rejoining or swapping classes. There will be one spectator recording the fight as well as watching out for rule breakers.
3. Cheaters~
There will be no macros or subs, also no one can spam trade or pm competing players. If this happens, the match will be postponed until they have stopped.
4. Vanities~
Vanities are not allowed. Also NO FOUNDERS HELM.
5. Map~
The map is forest fight which is the most spacious free map so that there is no advantage to being a class that thrives in close combat. Treeing is allowed.

Date-
Date will be set after all teams are in. I will talk with each team and make the date according to when everyone is free.

also, 10teams means 2teams will get a bye in the first round - perhaps try and get 16 because of the activeness of the level?

Let me clarify.
The reason I’m making this as so there is no rules regarding gear or class is to make this tournament as accurate as possible to the current state of pvp. This will show who the best players are in the current state because that’s just how pvp is.

Please keep in mind that more organization might be required to run a proper tournament, or else it just turns into a mess.

But CURRENT state of pvp won't tell you who the BEST players are, because the gears are way too unbalanced for the new participants trying to participate in this tourney. If you want to claim who the BEST players are, usage of the same gear should be applied.

The meta in 2011 (SSC/WF) was far more balanced than the current meta in PvP at 26. Sure, 2011 PvP might be outdated, but anything that came after is a pale imitation of the balance we once had in this level bracket.

The current state of this tournament caters entirely towards the rich and is entirely in favour of a team with 2 rich mages. If you truly want to find the best PvPer then the only way to do that is make it SSC/WF gear. I can guarantee you anyone who even has a chance at winning this tournament will completely agree to making it SSC/WF gear. I daresay they would be elated to finally have an SSC tournament because there was never one that concluded in the past.

The current meta is not inclusive of all classes... SSC/WF would be. At the moment, i don't think there will even be a single bird or rhino that enters - there just wouldn't be a point. I would love a chance to use my onyx bird again.

Please consider what myself and other people have said about making it SSC/WF only, it is infinitely fairer and will attract a much larger audience than 16 teams.

It doesn't matter that it's outdated when the current meta is entirely unbalanced.

How would you feel about increasing the amount of teams? This tournament seems to have gotten very popular and I know there are plenty more teams that would like to join. I was thinking around 24 - 32 teams or so. This could be a very good thing for PL. Thankyou for considering

Also, you should allow the teams to set their own times for games as everyone has their own work/school schedules. Its much easier if the two teams are able to decide a time for both rather than potentially being disqualified for something they had no control over.
