SWAMP TEMPLE EVENT


This week we will run the full version of the all new Swamp Temple Challenge event.

This event starts at 1:30 Texas time Thursday the 24th and runs until 1:30 next Thursday the 31st.

HOW TO PLAY

Travel to Festerfang Outpost and go through the portal. Energy is required to enter, and energy essence will drop (in zones other than the Swamp Temple) during the event.

Enter 'Solo' or 'Multi' (party and non-party)

* If you're in a party, the instance requires all party members to be present before starting
* If you're not in a party, the instance will wait for 3 other players to join you

The challenge begins when all participants are standing in the start circle:

+ Waves of Swamp Temple Guardians will appear.
+ Defeat all enemies to clear the wave.
+ You have sixty (60) seconds to clear each wave.
+ Earn points for defeating monsters.
+ Earn bonus points for every additional second that remains on the clock each wave.

The challenge ends when you die, your party wipes or if you run out of time.

COMPETE FOR REWARDS!


Leaderboards exist for both Pure and Enhanced runs.

Top 5 Group Enhanced get the special-colored 'Temple Tyrant' title and the greater banner item.
Top 5 Group Pure get the normal color 'Temple Priest' title and the greater banner item.
Top 5 Solo Enhanced get the special-colored 'Swamp Scion' title and the greater banner.
Top 5 Solo Pure get the normal color 'Bog Believer' title and the greater banner.

Top 25 players on all leaderboards get no title but they should get the lesser banner item. Top 5 players do not get the lesser banner.

Swamp Temple Tokens and the Swamp Temple Token Vendor will be available, where you can purchase recipes required to craft the Locked Temple Treasure and it's 'Massive' counterpart.

Locked Temple Treasure chests will contain powerful Level 71 Arcane items. Heroic Samael's egg drops from the Massive Temple Treasure Chest as well as bosses in the Swamp Temple Challenge.

Nope, im motivated to play the game and enjoy content, in this case to have fun with friends with a chance to loot heroic samael, that probably will keep much more people farming regardless if they are going for lb or not.
Other option is complain about everything based on negative assumptions....maybe

This might work for solo, but accumulate points for party? It would be a bit hard to sync all 4 members to play at same time :D. I do not think we will have different rules for solo LB and different for party LB.

I think that mobs act differently from beta/trial. Now most of them stay on their spawn and i must taunt them. Old way, when all attacked me during trial saved tiem. And, boss for solo warrior is a challenge lol.

Very good event sts! Thanks for listening to feedback regarding the black screen between waves, feels so much more fluid and fun to run.
Enemies scale well and the whole experience feels right. 10/10 for gameplay.

Please consider adding mire ring/belt possibly artifact to the vendor or as a drop from bosses as they're almost non existent in game and would give a lot of people reason to farm the event.

I agree. We will have tons of tokens and with 16H crafting time for Massives many bought recipes wont be used. I hope sts becomes somewhat generous in decreasing the chest plat price and some garbage loots.
Or else ppl would be bored of this game and would leave this game.

I just opened a couple..... Was tempted............

I was prepared to pay 30 plat for "6" pulls because I already knew the price but, these crates only has "3" pulls......

I just went ahead and popped them because I had the crates but, "30" for "3" is a bit too "champagne" for my "miller lite budget"....... LOL.........

I'd definitely prefer the standard "15 plat" for opening but, it would be excellent if these "30 plat" crates had at least "6" pulls, maybe even "7-8", LOL............................

Anyways, if you run this event again Sts, i suggest at the least putting something else in the vendor. I have like 100 energy+ that i will just let decay.

At the begining i was pondering opening some crates to see if i get lucky, but for sure would open other crates instead of these.

None of the mage made to top 5 group LB. Arent mage suppose to be good with AOE?

@Cinco: You said PVE should be interdependent like six months back after looking at the state of Hydra and Infested LB, the way I see Rogues are still rekting PVE alone. Didnt we learn anything from our experiences?
You felt the need of giving 5%Dmg buff to mage and 10%Dmg buff to warriors in the event zone, something similar to Hydra, but did you stop to think that if it doesnt work in Hydra then will it work for Event? And doesnt that mean that you agree that Rogues are OP even in a zone that require AOE power, hence the need of giving extra but not enough power to mage and warriors.

So, what are we waiting for? I mean come on man I shouldnt be saying all this; players shouldnt be telling devs how important class balance is, I am personaly tired giving proofs and making threads just to get it in your attention for past 6 months.
Dont take my word, you have live statistics in front of you. I sincerly request devs to look and spend some time into class balance and I hope we get to see the improvements by next level cap. Thank you.

PS: Please dont read it as a rant, Its just disapointment.

If the game continues to have such large disparities between classes, perhaps in the future it could be made so that a party is required to have at least one of each class. @Cinco: You said PVE should be interdependent like six months back after looking at the state of Hydra and Infested LB, the way I see Rogues are still rekting PVE alone. Didnt we learn anything from our experiences?
You felt the need of giving 5%Dmg buff to mage and 10%Dmg buff to warriors in the event zone, something similar to Hydra, but did you stop to think that if it doesnt work in Hydra then will it work for Event? And doesnt that mean that you agree that Rogues are OP even in a zone that require AOE power, hence the need of giving extra but not enough power to mage and warriors.

So, what are we waiting for? I mean come on man I shouldnt be saying all this; players shouldnt be telling devs how important class balance is, I am personaly tired giving proofs and making threads just to get it in your attention for past 6 months.
Dont take my word, you have live statistics in front of you. I sincerly request devs to look and spend some time into class balance and I hope we get to see the improvements by next level cap. Thank you.

Yes that happened after my post, and I had a chat with Bluehazzee to know how they achived it.
You should hear how they achived it from him (i wont steal his light), OP strategy and team work, they all carried each other - thats how interdependence should work in this game. And thats how such events should be played. Note that its on Pure, so no gimmicks, or elix stacking or etc.

In my eyes out of all the top 5 I feel only they are the truely deserving one.

Consider all the Mages and Tanks, it's like we picked the wrong class and going back would cost us a lot of time and effort, maybe when we started STS should have warned us that one of the classes completely dominates the game.

Just want to say thanks StS for event.. I dont have the RL time to run and compete in normal event LB, was nice to be able to do this one and get my 1st Banner and prolly only lol. I did enjoy 8 Team Hydra LB Badge when it lasted, dissapointed it got ruined because people thought it was to hard eye roll. Would of been nice if these banner had an aura but it's fine :).

Are you avoiding the issue intentionally or maybe you're missing the point? I'm not saying to remove a class, don't go back to that, it wasn't as serious as you're taking it. But, it's true that Rogues are dominating the game, and the fact that anyone would easily/happily accept to have their current character swapped to a Rogue is not a good sign for the class balance. You said that yourself, if you need a reminder, it's the "who wouldn't?" part.

Although I didn't really run this event, maybe only like 6-7 runs in total, the leaderboards are another example that show us that classes aren't as balanced as the community wants them to be.

Actually, there were 2 mage. We've managed #5 pure with Spell.
Its imperative to know that they both used ebon weapons and they could not without while there are a few rogues who got in top 5 with less powerful weapons, like spirit daggers and warriors with tb.
On top of that, was 1 week event. If it was 2 weeks, all parties from top 5 would of been made with 3 ebon rogues and 1 tb+ebon war. Unlike warriors who were indispensable for pulling mobs(tb being most effective), mages were not.

Right, I hope that devs note that these were all pure runs and were only possible because of willingness of 3 other players to carry a mage.
And I agree, warriors only made it to Swamp Group LB because of TB(Terror Blade) or TB+Ebon, Ebon only tanks were ignored too.

I think the main problem is that devs are still testing mage on a 2013 skill build where they used lifegiver and CC. They should start playing with current builds where people are spaming pots and the only CC used is Traps by Rogues in absence of a TB warrior.

But anyway we said the same things 6 months back and so far nothing much changed. I hope things will change with new level cap, fingers crossed.
