Only to people on friends list, or limit how many per day. I don't want spam. Other than that, ok idea.

I have thought about it too! But like ^^ said, I don't like people spamming stuff to me. But for that problem they could make a button to turn off offline messages, so if you don't want to receive these messages while you're offline, you could turn them off!

I like the idea of limiting it to friends list/guild.

There should be a few toggle-able settings though. Messges from Everyone. Friends and Guild only (default), guild only, and nobody.
