SO LET'S HAVE AN EVENT!
We'll be rolling out an updated 'Birfday Bones' event with a couple of cool new surprises!
+ Smash chests all over Alterra to find 'CRAZY ABE' the Birthday Event vendor.
+ Buy the 2019 Birthday Cake vanity helm and shield from Crazy Abe.
+ Wear both the 2019 Birthday Cake helm and shield for a chance to spawn 'Birfday Bones.'
+ Loot Birfday Bones' 2019 Party Hats and 'Nine Lives' shields!
+ Combine all of the Nine Lives Shields to get the 2019 special edition Level 105 Elite Birthday Buckler!
+ Collect all nine (9) of the 2019 Birthday Party Hats for an achievement and title... then use them to craft a special key item!
+ Combine the 2019 Birthday Party Hats and the Party House Key Recipe (drop from Birfday Bones) then find Crazy Abe to craft the key.
+ Use the 2019 Birthday Party House Key to enter the Party House portal in Forest Haven and ransack the King of Bling's gold-filled estate.

NOTE: This is not a leaderboard event.

Start time for the event is currently scheduled for 1:30pm Central on April 10th. Birfday Bones will be around 'til the 17th.
Crazy Abe and the Party House Portal will remain until 1:30pm Central on Monday, April 22nd - so you can craft / use house keys

Additional Stuff
+ Birfday Bones has a chance to drop a locked treasure chest called the "Birthday Box."
+ Birthday Boxes are stash-friendly, trade-friendly item packs that can be opened for 5 Platinum.
+ Opening a Birthday Box gives you a chance to loot gold, Elixir Flasks, Makeup Kits, Level 25 Elite Weapons and 'Ninth Guardian' vanity items.
+ "Elixir Flasks" are stash/trade-friendly item packs that contain one (1) Elixir (Experience, Damage, Insta-Loot) and can be opened for free.
+ NOTE: Opening an elixir flask will apply an elixir to your character and replace any existing elixir effect of the same type. Use wisely! Check your Avatar / Elixir Buffs before opening!!
+ "Makeup Kits" are stash/trade-friendly item packs that contain one (1) of the many 'Gaze' face items awarded during previous Events and can be opened for 10 Platinum.
+ NOTE: Opening a makeup kit will apply the kit contents to your character, over-ruling whatever 'face' you currently have! Examine the Makeup Kit and ensure the preview on your character is what you want before opening.
+ "Ninth Guardian" vanity sets are class-specific items (done this way to encourage trade) that form a 2-piece set that gives 2X Damge and 2X Speed in Legendary Event Zones (only)!

The crafted Party House key can be used one time to enter the portal. It is my expectation that the required components (2019 Party Hats) will be abundant enough for players to do numerous runs during the event period. I'm currently tweaking the spawn rate for 'Birfday Bones' to support this and am considering allowing the 'Party House' zone to stay active for a few days after the primary event has come to an end for those who wish to sell/ stockpile the crafted keys.

I think the addition of item packs was a great idea as I am one of those players who never spends stuff on fake virutual currency and I keep buying these birthday boxes. I think boxes like this should be a thing in the next cap and you can choose to spend plat for a higher chance of gear than the gold version.

This will be my 7th birthday as I have been here since 2012 and I wouldn’t change any of the experiences for anything. This game helped me get my mind off a lot of crap in my life. This game plays a apart of shaping my life and I thank you for it. I think the future is bright for this game and hope we see an increase in new and returning players. Once a PL player always a PL player.

Cinco you are the only name that I know of really in the Sts community, but tell the guys they are doing a great job from me. Thank you for everything!

Cinco apparently agreed with Crybabyalert and I when we suggested locked crates on the PL Community Party Zone Discord server, too :)

He pretty much implemented it with the '2019 Birthday Box' as Crybabyalert and I imagined it last month, with a few little changes.

Boxes that can be looted during an event, that can be opened with plat, that can contain a variety of items including gold, limited edition vanities, consumable elixirs (aka 'Elixir Flasks'), gear - and he added the event 'Gaze' faces and Party House keys as possible contents for this event.

I was especially excited to see my suggestion for consumable elixirs as items in the crates make it into PL as
'Elixir Flasks':


Crates could possibly contain: vanity pieces, full vanity sets, pets, and here's an idea -- instead of just being able to be bought from the store, consumable elixirs could be included as physical items that went to your inventory and could be "used" (consumed) at any time the user desires. Then these consumable elixirs could also be one of the possible crate contents. Imagine a 5 Star Punch and/or a few other types of elixirs in one crate, for example. Some contents would be rarer and worth more to a player, some would be more common and not quite as valued.

Item packs such as the Birthday Boxes will add a little revenue for the studio, a new item type for people to market/trade, and a lot of fun for the players (both free to play and plat users due to the trade-friendly nature of these boxes and their contents).

Looking forward to seeing how this system gets used in future seasonal events, etc.

I am just surprised at how fast the studio can take a great suggestion and turn it into a reality. This was only suggested a month ago!

I think if they're going to be so necessary for level 25 PVP (and beyond.. Up to level 50) that they should be more common than they are now.

FYI we just updated Pocket Legends with a fix for saving Enchantment Slots on items that have four (4) slots. To get the update all you need to do is patch (log out / log back in).

As of sometime last night, it seems Alterra has a new good Samaritan: Lev'lar!

He gives XP orbs. I have received up to 4k XP at a time upon taking him out. He has randomly spawned in lower level maps, sometimes as often as once per run. EDIT: He spawns all of the way to end game.

Lev'lar is a very nice gesture that will be immensely helpful to new and lower level players who want a faster path to level.
