scale farming with elix

I noticed that when I farm with the xp in any level elixir, I get the lowest level pink.

For example, I'm level 65 and decided to try the elix in plasma pyramid. I got a level 41 jewel thief scarab bow.

This was when it only cost 1 plat so maybe it's changed when they updated the cost to 5 plat? Also, I don't know if this has been posted already.
