Bunny Stun

Now the Easter event is over, which by the way I thought was fantastic, I was wondering about the stun mechanics of the bunny.

Why is it that some players when hot got stunned whilst others got thrown but were not stunned? Is it due to they players level of dexterity/armour/health as it certainty isnt class or level based.
