View Full Version : Ability to hide hosted games (Or sort them to the top) on search

Very likely this was suggested before, but I would like the ability to hide hosted games the way you can hide locked games, or to be able to sort non-hosted games to the top.

I have a fear of rejection, and I either host or only join a hosted game when I know the host.

makes sense, along with the suggestion to host open games

showing the boot message before being removed from the room helps?

Oh yea, definitely. Starting a game but giving up host privileges so it becomes an open game with no host name on the left and just the zone name.

So not many people like this? How about adding on to this? Add both a check box for "Hide hosted games" and "Hide open games" so people can choose which ones they hide. There's usually never a lack of hosted games, but there's often a lack of open games so hiding open games is not really needed, but meh.

And Slant I have no idea how seeing the boot message before they use it to kick you helps with hosted games, sorry.

Sorry, i'm a little confused by your post because "open games" can be "hosted games." An open game is a game that isn't locked, and not all hosted games are locked. I guess i'm getting into semantics here. Do you mean you want to hide hosted games that are not locked bc you have gotten booted from them? Well, i understand that, booting should be a last resort, and if people don't want randoms in their game, they can lock them. If someone accidentally snipes a spot on a remake that i don't lock, i politely let them know we are full, and i would never boot in the middle of a run. Actually, these are part of our guild rules, so if you ever see and IU hosting, feel free to join until there is a better alternative to for this problem :-)

Open game is a game with no host. I thought that much was obvious....

A hosted game without a password is not really an open game because there is a host. A true open game is a game with no host. Also known as a public game. You can identify open games by them having the zone name and not a player name as a game name on the left.

Yea you got into semantics there a bit much Lelouch. Booting is not an issue since I have only ever joined 2 games randomly, and both were jerks. Just want an easier way to find non-hosted games.

i considered an open game any game not locked. i'd be shocked if i'm the only one who thought this. i was really just offering u a welcome in any of my guild runs, didn't mean to offend you with my first post

Please give a full ten minutes before quoting me or you end up quoting an old post. I often reword myself and check if I'm rude to people.

Thanks though. I'll keep that in mind. I've had bad luck with random hosts, and just don't join hosted games anymore unless I somehow know the host.

i clicked new posts and saw a response. i usually have time to be at the computer at work so i look at the new posts often. i think my words come off the same way sometimes even when not meant to. thanks for the clarification :-)

And thanks for the invites. It's just been hard leveling alts cause there's a lack of public games in some level brackets.

It would be nice to not have to scroll through the 20+ hosted games I don't wanna join.

Well, if you happen to see anyone from Blackstar Union around (our alt/low level guild) they may be running in your bracket. you can add "eyeofnoob" if you want, he's 21 op, but i'm on a little "mental health break" from SL right now, so i won't be around in game for a bit. good luck
