View Full Version : How do I speak in game?

Thread title explains it all. I've seen people trying to talk to me, but I haven't the foggyest on how to respond, or talk on my own.

I know it involves / but haven't gotten anything productive to happen.

Maybe I"m just dense or something.

Bonus question. How do I give other players stuff?

Hey there. Just tap the chat box displayed at the top of your screen, this opens up the dialog box and a keyboard. You'll also notice an arrow to the right of the chat display box, this allows you to have a single line display, a three line display of larger, 6 I think. Great for minimising when fighting...

You can also tap on a player in town, or there name on a map, to open up the players profile and chat from there. There is a little button next to the message button which opens a dialog box for more detailed chat.

Don't forget there are lots of chat commands which can be used also.

Access them by typing '/' which lists them. Some often used ones are;

/t redbridge hello - this would tell me 'hello' if I'm logged in, where ever I am.
/w - this lists who is in the town/map ur currently in
/h - this displays the current host of the current map

There's a really useful guide here - http://www.spacetimestudios.com/showthread.php?24970-the-command

Check out the SL or PL Stuff links in my signature for lots and lots of other useful stuff

Feel free to ask if you need anymore info

@redbridge
I don't think he ment the / commands lol

If you want to say something that everyone can read, tap or click on where I circled in black
If somebody writes to you & you want to reply to them, tap or click where I circled red. That triangle(that has a 2 on it) has your notifications, & if someone sends you a message you can reply by just tapping or clicking reply:)

Very appreciated. Thanks guys, it's been away from MMO gaming for so long I've gotten out of the habit of randomly clicking to see what happens.

By the by how do you do gestures?

Example being 'wave at the droid s wandering around to get a jetpack.' Just an example since I already have all of 'em. /wave?

Tap or click on your health then a sub menu comes out, then tap on the Smiley Face that says "emote"
You can also have it on your main screen, just go to your settings:)

I think they should make a more elaborate tutorial and guide in-game when new players start. I see many lost players wandering and not knowinng what to do at all..

Rather like that one of the questlines is just showing new folk around the main hub.

Would kinda like a collected set of notes, or a wikia on the in game story though. Since I'm kindof a writer by hobby and what snatches I've paid attention to are.... interesting.

Both made by members, from competitions held by STS, you just missed the SL one :)

Nice except for the fact it's aimed at touch interface rather than a keyboard/mouse interface that chrome users would have to work with.

Wouldnt you just change the 'press' into a 'move and click' sure there are keyboard mapped buttons but they are just shortcuts all features can be used without. (As the SL one was made on Chrome). Still covers the basics no matter what device/computer you are using IMO except what was explained above (keyboard) another wouldnt be necessary for just Chrome users.
