You can make your thread and press the plus sign. Then insert picture and choose your picture. But this way makes your pic in landscape and people don't like this. So you need to follow the steps in the 2nd post to post them successfully.

I think the insert picture on STS inserts your pic the way you have it. Since I have to rotate all my pics from my iPad to my computer, that probably means they would all post from my iPad in landscape form. You can, of course, use an alternative program to first edit your pics before you upload them.
