Ebonthrax Orb Drop Rate Bugged?

So I've been leveling my mage which is currently level 106 and have been receiving little to no orbs from mini-bosses and mobs, as well as zero orb drops from Ebonthrax.

Three of my guildmates have told me that things seem to pick up a lot when you hit level 107 - they started to drop a lot of orbs and haven't stopped until hitting level 110.

Is this a bug or a coincidence? Is it true that level 105's and 106's drop little to no orbs from Ebonthrax until reaching level 107? I've personally seen my level 109 guildmate's xp shoot up 100k xp while running Ebonthrax while I have yet to drop a single orb and he gets one every other run it seems like.

I was moping my way to 106, and had even convinced myself that the 10k orbs everyone had been talking were fake. I couldn't get a single one. I finally managed to hit 107 and orb drops from Ebonthrax suddenly were very evident.

@Cinco: Can we get any word on this?

I asked around and it seems as if no one has received an orb drop from the boss Ebonthrax until hitting level 107. Many players skip Ebonthrax entirely even when they hit level 107 because they do not know orbs drop.

Im lucky to get any orbs of any kind period.... I'll get a single 200 xp orb every 5-6 runs in hyper thrax map. I have yet to see any orb higher than 5000 exp drop since I started my 110 journey. Like he said, I skip ebonthrax boss because it takes too much time and there's zero chance to get an orb until 107.
Currently just hit 106.... FINALLY!

Yeah, Ebonthrax doesn't drop orbs until you hit level 107, then you start dropping 10k xp orbs.
