View Full Version : I think this is a good idea

I heard that AL lost many players due to the introduction of awakenings in PvP.
If that is truly the problem then isn't it a good idea to disable item awakenings in PvP maps.
I would like to hear everyone's thoughts on this and the possibility of the devs implementing such if that is the case. Thank you

Why cater towards the free2play when its the pay2win that keep this game going?

Also awakenings did not kill PvP at endgame. Its the new Ebon Weapons and class unbalance that killed it.

Low level PvP was killed on purpose to encourage people to come endgame as that is where people are more likely to spend plat and keep the game running

Even if they do disable awakes for pvp, I don’t think it would revive the game, a lot of players have already moved on.

Pet slots and house buffs were fine, just the awakes were a bit TOO much. If they were to have disabled them about 2-1 years ago, I think they could’ve saved the game make it last a few more years, but I think it s a bit too late now in my honest opinion, especially with all these new pets and weapon procs.

Soon AL won’t be able to compete with newer game graphics and mechanics, story plot plays a huge role in RPG games and that died at cap 46... too bad, I really enjoyed the quests about how uller died, very intriguing.

Maybe if the new expansion has some old school type of maps like the 5 different maps ‘Dead City’ has(example). That would be a good step on the right direction, then disable awakes for pvp then after that, being able to turn any season 1-3 armors into vanities would be better. Some fan/player service would definitely help the game revive a bit, maybe not by thousands of new players but slowly gaining newer players.

Agreed! If they follow those steps,

1.)5 different map expansions”old school”

2.)Disable awakes for PvP

3.)Able to turn season 1-3 armors into vanities.

Surely a good step in the right direction!

Although, there are a few problems with some of these...

1.) Those 5 different map expansions, it would get repetitive after a few “new” expansions. We all know how most of the time the team doesn’t know what to think of for new ideas. Then recoloring of armors and same old maps begins again, just ask dreamscape, festerfang, maus... :/, that is if they don’t ask us, the player what we’d prefer to see, instead of them surprising us with these so called “new’ expansions.

2.) disabling awakes means sts would lose profit and therefore the game would die even faster, not to mention, they have to come up with a new way to make profit.

3.) not a problem with 3 but they might take too much time to make this, since most of these armors have different names but the same look.

Other than that, these are some pretty good points. I really hope they make these soon.

Wrong section, sts gets mad when you suggest ideas that are not in the correct section. Just copy and paste it on ‘al suggestions and feedback’

I'm not being rude and it's not salty and yes I know it's off topic but I saw your post and took the opportunity to ask someone who looks like they know and this is a genuine question.
What can we post on General Discussion?
Thanking you in anticipation. I really do want to know.

People spent a lot of money on getting the awakens they want especially for PvP, so disabling them would lead to a lot of people rage quitting the game. Maybe some sort of scaling for awakens would be more beneficial for the players and the game as well.

thats true and has been brought up before so I think the best way to fix this is to create 2 pvp zones one where awakes are allowed and one where awakes are disabled. Satisfies both parties

This seems to be the best way forward but i guess StS is worried it will end up like it was before with 1000+ players at level 10/11 with the majority contributing nothing towards the game doing PvP with legendary’s

We haven’t as a group decided what to suggest yet so we are still GENERALLY DISCUSSING ideas with each other which we may suggest once we are done :)

For all of you saying the game is dying and have lost many players,
please look at those numbers:

180994

Well, those give only a little idea of how many players still playing the game in 2019
and also i think many don't even come to forum, so IMO the game still very alive!
