Just thinking about the fact that when your hardcore character dies you have to delete it and go the the whole faff of going through the creating new character screens.
Wouldn't it be easier just to have a "free" option to revive the char at level one, totally wiped, with same name & same starter pet as picked last time?
Also saves people from having their hc names swiped when they die.
