What activity/occurrence does the two progress bars below the New Vardan Valley map activate when filled???????

When the upper bar fills up, it opens two portals. First one is in the upper left of the town and the 2nd in bottom left. The other bar is filling slower and it opens 3rd portal in bottom right next to the lb.

They open the portals:

Defeat the Mogera in their lair to advance progress toward two (2) cyclical event areas accessible from Vardan Valley town: the Valley Frontier and the Greensap Farm.

Defeating "Skull Dozer" and "Jord Skratch" will advance a final goal: The Valley Gates Gauntlet!

Is that it? I mean..is that what the level 76 expansion is going to be forever? Those maps and then some gauntlet?
I thought it was going to be something else.
Oh well...if that's all it is then I'll stick with Maus. Thankyou very much. 😔
