so basically,
when ive added this person to my friendlist,
and then ignored this person,
he should be removed from friendlist automatically but instead when i look at his profile the add friend button is not showing meaning im still his friend.
however when i check my friendlist, his name is not there when he is online.

It sounds like it's working properly - the add friend button doesn't show up because you're ignoring them.
