A Truly "Off-Topic" Discussion

Some of you guys may think of me as a "mean guy" or "that guy" who seems to say the wrong things in the wrong places. But really guys, there is no need for taking tons of stuff so seriously. I am just blunt about the truth and my opinions. Im not here to please everyone. If anything im saying what some people dont want to say.

Im just here speaking my mind and asking questions. Since we are in off topic.

SL is a fun game but it flawed in MY OPINION. Mods seem to police everything but themselves, also I enjoy a serious MMO that I can get into not a pickup and go MMO where it seems you grind to a level cap and are left in the dark for weeks on end until new content comes out.

Not to say I dont enjoy playing the game, because honestly if it wasnt for my guild and the friends I have made it in, the game wouldnt be itself at all and my interest level would be completely different.

On a final note, it seems the game is rigged to purchase plat to access everything. Want the best gear? Gota use plat...special maps? Gota buy plat. So where does that leave people who cant afford plat? In the dust, everything else is fine, vanities, some armor, some weps. But it just seems your cant have an edge in the game UNLESS you spend money on plat.

You just have to enjoy the game while it lasts, best thing about mmo's is the ability to play with other people. Well that's basically what they are, and that's why I'm hooked.

I believe the concept of an MMO is to be a massive multiplayer role playing game, no? Thus, the players are usually what makes the game fun, not the content. Infact, it's fun to complete content with other players rather than to have at it alone.

As for the platinum issue, I'll just say one thing. The world runs on money, yes even games. If you're unhappy with that, I suggest you go play Runescape or Angry Birds Free Version to satisfy your gaming needs. If you spend your platinum wisely, the game IS NOT that expensive. However, if you make every frivolous purchase that you can ever make, the game can turn out to be quite the money drain.

I honest to god LOVED this game when it first came out, but it seems that you cant really do anything without either grinding for days and days on end or you can cave in and buy plat

would expect some kind of player churn but overall, the game was just much more fun when Numa was cap, in fact most fun when Numa was cap

The newer campaigns are not really casual either, its not pick up and play because you need to pay attention and cant play for 2-5 minute bursts at all

at the same time the game does not really satisfy the hardcore players as well

Some gamers dont like PvP and all the stuff associated with it, few people play fair and most people who play well have a bag full of dirty tricks they got from other games lol that just makes anyone new to pvp not enjoy the exp

Plat store - not enough things to buy actually, those who like to support the game dont have too many things to spend on outright... at the same time you absolutely need plat to make credits and get in-game stuff :/

game still going tho, eventually well get people who like it just the way it is haha and maybe more people will show up after the holidays

nooooooooo you have to pay plat too have a edge on the game trust me i know. you may think u have good gear but you dont. an the server they run PL an SL is very inexpensive an they save alot of money unlike WOW wherw it cost like 170k a day to run there servers.

As for the plat necessity, I'm with the developers on this one. Sure, the need for elixers is increasing alarmingly, but the core substance of what can be bought (extra maps, vanities) IS completely optional. The game IS free to play, very well so. While SL has such a credit meltdown that people buy them with money, PL at least resembles what STS is all about in terms of access.

Whoa man. Just whoa. America is a pretty cool place. So is Canada. Now, do you really wanna get into a flame? Sure the game is going downhill cheapscate-wise, but it is still a fun-ish game, as it was meant to be. Also, WoM is a good game. OaC is too. So, how about we all stop (including me, cuz im more guilty than a lot of people) fighting like children.
This whole thread was, however, an unnescesary flame, and didnt even add anything to what every other person has already mentioned.
Plat complaints are becoming too cliche, and are actually kind of annoying.

If it's not praising sts or quite bluntly if it has anything to do with shedding negative light towards them you flock and squack the same exact answers tearing said people down just because you're high and mighty sts is being insulted. Inflated egos make fools of anyone and everyone.

Could I humbly seek your permission to disagree with you.

You appear to suggest that disagreeing with people who disagree with, or critise STS would make someone a brown noser.... and I'd hate to encourage you to call me a brown nose simply for having a personal opinion.

I think Serprus is entitled to his/her opinion just the same as you and everyone else is, but please don't insult my intelligence by grouping me and others into some sort of 'brown nose' club.

Personally I agree with some of things Serprus has said but the 'way' it is delivered leaves itself blatantly open to critism and response. Various people have tried to share an alternate opinion in a polite and measure way but when someone is intent on hating there is simply no helping some people.... Many of the responses are actually directed at Serprus and not at defending STS so I'm unsure if your 'brown nose' club analogy is a misplaced attempt at trying to rubbish other people's opinions or whether it's a rage itself at people having an opinion different than your own. It would be interesting to hear what it's based upon.

To be honest the forums have become a veritable wealth of badly delivered rages, negativity and name calling. Have many people simply forgotten how to get their point across, and deliver a constructive, well word arguement?

Feedback is a 'real' life skill and is invaluable but often is an underestimated skill. Giving, receiving and using feedback isn't something that can just be thrown around. It takes thought and consideration.

So, if anyone wants to post their thoughts and opinions in a non-thoughtful and unconstructive manner they are freely inviting responses which may well appear to 'brown nose' the very thing you're trying to express against.

Only a thought...

EDIT: my personal opinion on the state of things recently has been repeatedly voiced on the forums and directly to STS so there is no need to bring all that stuff into this post. Feel free to search it out or ask if you are remotely interested.

When you start attacking the directly for not liking their opinion then that poster needs to be aware they are just going to get trolled.

Though the Op just explains how they believe it is flawed.

We/everyone have posted so many threads to show how this can be possibly be improved but to no avail, as our threads are not even being considered. It feels that STS are pretty much going to do what they are doing and not even consider any idea we have/suggest, unless it is a bug or a quick fix for something that has already been implemented.

If we saw alot more of our feedback taken into consideration then maybe it would have not led up to this point in the first place.. not saying everything anyone suggests should be implemented.. (what a mess that would be) but the main bulk of threads in the suggestion thread no matter how small or big haven't even been looked at.. why have that their if it no longer effects the game content.

Earlier on throughout its release we seen these changes and quite regular.. now... not even worth wasting an idea/making suggestions.

I love/d the game, you know that bro, been here since day 1 up until now, its just a shame it can get like this. I logged on the other day and pretty much everyone I chat with and hang about with was offline, this maybe because of holidays and such, but most likely due to all this. It takes the fun out of the whole game, before anyone mentions it, I have no problem meeting new people through PUGs and such up until Shipyard, wouldn't attempt it in V, as it gets to hectic.

I'm not just going to stop playing because I don't like the path SL is going, as I have put to much money/time into it. Though I will no longer be purchasing any Plat, if this is to continue. (Yes its my opinion/decision, no other has to say anything on the matter)
