The start of a new year is a great time to reflect on what happened the year before and look ahead to the year that is coming. 2011 was an awesome year for Spacetime Studios, characterized by growth and achievement. We know that our success wouldn’t have been possible without you, our fans.

On behalf of everyone here at Spacetime Studios, I want to express our deep thanks and gratitude to all of the many players across the globe who support us.

2011 in Review:

Pocket Legends (http://www.pocketlegends.com/)continues to grow, with over 6 Million downloads and accumulating accolades (http://www.spacetimestudios.com/content.php?212-Recent-Press-Links), such as:

• Massively.com: “Best Smartphone Game of 2011”
• Mashable Awards: “Best Mobile Game of 2011 (Finalist)”
• Gizmocrunch: “Best Android Games for Tablets

Our second game, Star Legends: the Blackstar Chronicles (http://www.starlegends.com/), exploded on the mobile gaming scene in August to wide critical acclaim (http://www.spacetimestudios.com/content.php?222-Recent-Star-Legends-Press-Links)and has already accumulated over 1.5 Million downloads.

• Venture Beat: “Top 10 iOS game of 2011”
• Mashable.com “Top 10 Best Android Games of 2011”
• Appolicious “Best Free iPad Games of All Time”

Combined, Spacetime Games are played over a million times each week in over 200 countries worldwide.

Spacetime Studios (http://www.spacetimestudios.com/content.php?228-Spacetime-Press-Links)also received some nice awards, including:

• Pocket Gamer: “Top 50 Developers of 2011”
• Develop Magazine: “The World’s 100 Best Game Studios”

In 2011 we not only grew our playerbase significantly, but we also grew our understanding of how best to expand our live games. MMO games, by their very nature, are constantly evolving. In Pocket Legends alone we added 15 levels of content, countless new quests, revamped areas and refined game mechanics over the course of hundreds of patches to the live game. Through all of this activity, we have come to doubly value the feedback we receive from our customers. Spacetime Studios’ vibrant message forum community reflects our commitment to maintaining a robust dialog with the fans that play our games.

In December of 2011, we further expanded the capabilities of our games by bringing them to the Chrome Webstore. This was an industry first (http://www.spacetimestudios.com/content.php?345-World%E2%80%99s-First-MMOs-to-Unite-Desktop-and-Mobile-Devices), as we tore down the barriers between 3D MMO players on desktop computers, smart phones and tablets.

2012, The Year to Come

Even if Mayan prophecies come true in 2012, we will be working hard right up to the bitter end to bring you awesome gaming. We continue to develop content expansions for Pocket Legends and Star Legends. Next up for Pocket Legends is Humania, and after that is the next chapter in the three part saga “Crusade of Chaos” for Star Legends. Beyond content, we are working to bring localized versions of our games in multiple languages to all corners of the globe. Expansion to better serve the global market, that has already embraced the English versions of our games, will only bring more resources to bear in the development of our connected gaming ecosystem.

What else could be better for the New Year than more games? In 2012 we will be releasing the next title in the Legends Franchise: Dark Legends (http://www.darklegends.com/). Dark will be a bit of a departure from the formula that Pocket Legends established as we innovate on lessons learned. The game is shaping up nicely and we are very excited to get it into your hands. Follow Dark Legends on Facebook, Google+ and Twitter to be in the know when we start the push toward beta testing.

2011 was a huge year for Spacetime Studios and I invite you to join us for the thrill ride that 2012 is shaping up to be. Thanks again for your continued support!

Also hoping for some more revamps in PL. The program has become a memory hog to the point where you have to reuse map pieces. Maybe some of the unused areas can go bye-bye. If a zone like "The Shadow Cave!" gets almost no traffic, there is no reason why it should take up resources that can go into the next set of maps. Except... I paid for it... so throw me a bone, or another ugly shield. ;)

Excited for what's to come!
As for the much misrepresented Mayan calendar, there is a prediction in that same codex for the day after the supposed end, but that doesn't sell books I guess.

The world won't end this year guys.

The Mayans just ran out of stone.

Convo went like this
Mayan 1 (let's call him Bobby) and Mayan 2 (let's call Hill)

Bobby: Dang no more stone!
Hill: Ah oh well, it's not like they think we are saying the world will end on 2012
Bobby: What if they do?
Hill: Well we can laugh at them, haha

Then bam! An animal eats them before they told anyone the truth about the calendar.

Not the point lol. And many people believe differently. But Humania sounds amazing and Dark legends sounds epic :)

Yeah, although I hear the rank is more titular than it would seem. The core four are ranked equally, I believe, and the are all C_O something. Like Cinco is CVO, Asommers is CTO, and Jakis CCO. They are the four who toughed it out and developed the game without pay to get it launched.

Chief Exec, Chief Visionary, Chief Tech, and Chief Creative. They're equals I think, only... they do push G out there when it's time to schmooze the money folks, from what I can tell.

I still think it's amazing that STS games/forums have frequent contact with the developers. I've played about... No other games where I've seen devs more than once a month. Some games don't even have any way to input your thoughts. Thanks for everything STS!

My 12th Thanks given to you Justg!
I've been looking forward to a little review/post summary from the Developers too.
Been a great year, and have seen more than expected from Pocket Legends.
I've seen so many improvements and look forward to Humania as well as DL.
Best of luck!

Thanks for thanking the community :D

As some already said, for 2012, me too would like to see some new content released, instead of rehashes of old content (sounds, textures, even enemies). Don't get me wrong, I absolutely enjoyed Nuri's and Fang a lot, but it starts to feel more of the same IMO.

I joined when alien oasis were the end-game levels, and found it extremely original when I first got there. When sewers came out, I thought it was great and original too. After Nuri's and Fang, many people in game started to speak up about the recycling of content. the last real original content was sewers IMO. I sincerely hope, that we'll get original content in 2012, with redesigned textures, sounds, enemies and maybe some new strategies to defeat enemies.

All in all, I have enjoyed the content and work you guys put into this game, that's also the reason why I decided to give you my honest feedback. I never thought I would stick around as long as I did, in any game for that matter. It means I think it's an extremely cool game that got a lot better as compared to when I started. I hope for 2012, you'll make it even better :)

Since it's launch in 2010, PL has continually evolved/improved....some of the evolution was well met while other aspects were....ummm...not so happily received. However, the devs listened to the feedback and forgave the flames (most of them anyway) and tweaked and improved and kept the game on a great path. I really enjoy the game , but the community is what keeps me coming back. I quit PL for a while to concentrate on SL, but missed many of my ingame friends. So I am playing both again and eagerly awaiting DL. The expansions into other consoles, etc. as well as the Facebook and Twitter presence show how committed these guys are to this adventure. Yes, adventure....anyway, THANKS STS for all your hard work and continuing forward.
