Ok, first off why is galadriel in it? And why did she stroke gandalf's cheek like that? I do like that the guy from hitchhiker's guide is playing bilbo. Regardless it looks freakin awesome.

It looks great. There are comments in the Silmarillion about the doings of the elves at various points that are not included in the Hobbit or LotR. Besides, Cate's voice has to start the movie as narrator for consistency.

@Artentreri it has only a passing mention in the book, but Gandalf, Galadriel, Elrond, Saruman, Cirdan (shows up at the end of ROTK) and maybe one or two others defeat Sauron maybe this will be shown, maybe not, definitely looks like it will be shown from the trailer!

Silmarillion will be cool... but it cant be a regular movie with a regular pace, just epic visuals with almost no dialogue and fast paced action rushing through time

Yeah the silmarillion was a great book, I dunno about a movie based off of it though.
