Yesterday I saw ny friend, a level 66 bear equip a 56 dingy crown (purple) he does not have the Nuri vanity shield but does have the armor. I asked him why he did not get it crafted so he could have the bonus.
Well I know that in times past, you could turn even a purple crown into a vanity one. Many many people did so, well we went to all Fallen Prince and none of them offered to turn it into a vanity helmet.
Any insights? Is it too late?

Are you talking about the COP? Because I don't think you can craft it into the vanity crown anymore.

Correct, it's too late to turn the dingy into the COP.

Whoa aw... I wonder if a player was inactive and just came back, he/she would never be able to make cop into vanity?

Just tell him/her to email support. I'm sure they'd fix that up.

Actually it could be quite possible that they won't fix it up.
I mean, the patch that COP became a vanity was DURING Nuri's Hallows.
I don't think it'll be back, unfortunately.
It's like one of those oh-man-I-missed-that-event things.

You still needed to get the 80k xp to get there right? I don't see how difficult it'd be to take
His/her figure crown and replace it with the cop vanity

Ummm..

Go to the Fallen Prince in Mt. Fang. I crafted a Dingy Crown the other day to make it a vanity on one of my 56's.

Make sure it is unequipped! ;)

Crim Crim! We tried talking to him, all he said was enjoy your armor and he was going to look for more pieces as the world expands :(
Maybe since the armor was recieved it over writes the crown crafting message?

Hmmm.. could be. Since I crafted it for my 56, I don't have the shield or armor. Maybe Flip can chime in on this.

I emailed him specifically... :/
Hopefully he can get his bonus.

He switched the dingy to his 65 bird and was given the option to craft it into a vanity.
Sooooo IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO CRAFT IT.

Pronounced Din-jee, It means dirty, old, tattered.

Dingy, pronounced Ding-ee, is a small inflatable boat.

Dingy, pronounced Ding-ee, is a small inflatable boat. He meant what is the crown, how do I get one. I think is what he meant.

Not necessarily inflatable and usually spelled dinghy, though dingy works, too.

The dingy crown was the Crown of Persistancr prior to doing the quests to craft it. Some of us bought multiple "dingy" crowns for costumes and so forth. I actually had 4 CoP's and 1 Dingy so I now have 5 vanities on various toons. ;)

If he crafts it on his 65 birds wont it be unstashable once its a vanity?

Yes once it is crafted it becomes unstashable. His bird would have crafted ot to use it instead IF it was too late for his bear. But it was done , seems like it is a bug. Bug being once you obtain the next piece you are no longer given the option to transform the crown.
