According to this thread (https://www.spacetimestudios.com/showthread.php?492558-Armor-past-9k-is-useless-on-characters). I've decided to start my own research with how armor and armor mitigation works

Futumush said that armor mitigation is...

10% armor mitigation means you take 10% less damage from attacks affected by armor.
Normal armor's effectiveness is relative to the level of the attacker, whereas armor mitigation is not.
thus in conclusion that 10% armor mitigation is similar to 10% damage reduction.

Now we know that in PvE and PvP max armor is 8215. above than that will still result same incoming damage, however, 10% armor mitigation is similar to dmg reduction and suppose to reduce incoming dmg, yet i still receive the same input even when im on maxed armor requirement.

This are the test i did with a friend. Using Hiberio pet lv76, 367 is the dmg
with my 9.2k armor, each of his attacks is -34
i tested with quentin to add on my armor (10.1k), each of his attacks is -34
lastly i tested with whiskers 10% armor mitigation (my armor 9.2k), each of his attacks is -34

Then I decided to test on lower armor, below the PvE/PvP requirement
with my 3.7k armor, each of his attacks is -107
with quentin (4.1k armor), each of his attacks -102
lastly with whiskers 10% armor mitigation (my armor is 3.7k), each of his attacks is -89

so basically something is not correct with the calculation. unless dev is willing to declare. :)

he said something like: max absorbing damage by ARMOR and ARMOR MITIGATION is 80% (at lvl76 mobs 8215 armor), i think it can be considered as "armor mitigation is useless if you already have maxed armor which absorbing 80%, and %dmg reducion isn't similar"

If your armor is already absorbing 80% on its own, armor mitigation will do nothing for you.

min(80%, (effectiveness of armor based on attacker level) * armor + armor_mitigation)

Did you say 8.2k armor is max for PvP? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Also don't forget your armor can be debuffed, in which case any extra armor and/or armor mitigation does come into play.

Max yes. But need more armor to counter those debuffs armor.
PvE require is 9k.
PvP 10-11k.

Armor debuff does not stack. Max is 25% from warrior's axe throw
35% from arcanite tykia (low chance)

Hmm so think best should be 12k armor for a tank in PvP cuz armor debuff
