Mitigation is the action of reduction. Which means it is equal to armor reduction.

%15 armor and %15 armor reduction is a huge diff

I have questions, why would anyone want armor reduction? and I think we all know 15% armor and 15% armor reduction are opposites???
Did I misunderstand or did that not make any sense? please help!!! Reduction in enemy armor? our armor? what?

15% damage mitigation means 15% of the damage the enemy does to you will be absorbed. it's like dmg reduction on arc shoggoth.

15% armor adds 15% on your armor, so if your armor is 1,000 it’ll be 1,150.

15% damage reduction is 15% of the incoming damage will be reduced, which is stronger than 15% armor. For example armor cannot block procs, but incoming damage reduction do block proc damage. Therefore, it is more OP.

%armor reduction/mitigation over %armor imo.

By futumsh:

'Damage Reduction' is a multiplier, you only get benefit from the best one (and only if you don't have a debuff of that type), and applies to all sources of damage.

'General Mitigation', which I don't think appears in text anywhere but is used for some things, is the stacking version of Damage Reduction.

'Armor Mitigation' reduces damage taken from sources that do not ignore armor, and stacks, but is subject to maximum armor effectiveness rules. Armor Mitigation is effectively the stacking version of Armor Multipliers, but does not appear in your armor stat.

There were a few things incorrectly labelled 'Damage Mitigation' which should have said 'Armor Mitigation' (Blacklight, Tainted 76 set proc buff) - those labels are fixed with today's update.

Yes, that is correct!

But they stack, those two. Armor mitigation and damage reduction.

What's there to be confused about lmao? There is something called "Google" you can simply look up the meaning of the words mitigation, reduction and resistance and your common sense should fill you in on the rest.

#HateCommentsIncoming.I respect your viewpoint, the definitions do mean the same thing.

However in the game they are different types of damage reduction, so please take the time to research it (by literally scrolling up to my comment explaining it) before you flame others.

So armor reduction and mitigation are the same things?

Mitigation decreases damage you take after taking into account the damage decreased by your armor. For example if you have enough armor to reduce the damage by 50% then mitigation will reduce another 15% of this number.
