If you've ever been reading the forums on your phone and wished the pages would load faster or that you didn't have to scroll all over the place to read everything, then here's something to check out!

We've added a Mobile Style to the Forums. To view it, scroll down to the bottom left and tap on the drop down and choose "Mobile".

To go back to the normal view, just scroll to the bottom of the Mobile version and tap the link to go to the full site.

I've been trying it out for the past 25 minutes on my iPod touch and it's great! everything loads super quick and will be vary helpful since I always go on the forums on my ipt. The only thing I've noticed is that when someone posts a screenshot, it makes you side swipe the whole page in order to see the full screenshot. but I think it's ok because it let's you zoom in and out of the screenshot. Other than that, I like it and will most likely use this mobile version from now on.

Works very well on Opera Mobile on my WM phone, with one exception. Reply with quote doesn't work (it doesn't quote), but the button to do so is shown in the mobile view, so I'm assuming you are supposed to be able to do it.
Also, you can't post with your signature, but that may be intentional. Just thought I'd mention it. The lack of quoting is really the only thing that bothers me.

One more small complaint. The Log Out button is to close to the home button and I keep accidentally logging out.

Got a question on how this works, at it seems to be cookie type based and not redirection. The reason I ask is chat box does not seem to be available on the mobile version, so it would be nice to be able to have window open with full, and windows open with mobile version. Just a thought.

One recommendation that I would make is to provide easier links to navigate between the pages of a thread. On my Droid it is extremely difficult to hit a particular page number. I am thinking of a Next link in addition to the numbers. If you get really fancy, you could provide a First, Last, Next and Previous link.

I've now been using this view almost exclusively for a couple of weeks. I really like it! One additional thing that I would recommend is to enable the ability to subscribe to a thread directly from the mobile view. I often find myself switching to the full view just to subscribe. If this is already available please let me know!

Hmm, does it work?Quoting is fine now, and it's there when clicking on an individual post. But it doesn't create the link to the quoted post properly. I'm on the app so watch how it looks. It just shows the number of the post that got quoted. Also the app is unable to display links to quoted posts made on the website. There's no go to arrow.

It is also missing multi-quote option.

Btw I added in another post that you should make this app rotate (when you turn you device sideways the app turns sideways) so you can type easier, just a thought for another update! ;D
