The Pocket Lottery

I'll be running a more traditional lottery with a weekly Sunday draw. This is a non profit lottery, all of the takings will be allocated as prize money.

The first draw will be the first sunday after the release of the 1.3 update - expected 16th August, the first draw is therefore planned for Sunday 22nd August.

You pick 3 numbers from 1-15, you cannot pick 2 or more of the same number, they all have to be different.

Each set of numbers costs 1000 gold to enter into the prize draw.

On draw day, I will generate 4 numbers from 1-15 using the ingame /roll command for people to watch, 3 main numbers and 1 bonus number.

Odds and prizes are as follows:-

3 matching numbers
Full jackpot (455:1)

2 matches + bonus number
20k (152:1)
2 matches
5k (14:1)

1 match + bonus number
2k (14:1)

While odds may seem high, they are based on a single entry, the more you buy, the more chance you have. Depending on how successful the lottery is I will tweak the rules (and therefore the odds) to give reasonable chances. I anticipate that around 30 people may play, hopefully buying a total of 200-300 entries, meaning the jackpot will usually roll over, allowing for some substantial wins.

A portion of the takings will be set aside for non jackpot wins, the jackpot will therefore never be equal to the takings.

Always check your numbers to see if you have won, I will be using the thread search facility to find matching numbers to allocate prizes, but I have not tested the feasibility of this in large threads with multiple matches.

The lottery will be run by a character specifically made for it (PocketLottery), anyone wishing to play/purchase should add him, tickets must be placed via this thread and not ingame, gold for tickets is to be paid to PocketLottery ingame.

Below is an example ticket purchase, please follow it exactly.

Numbers - must be written as 2 digits, without spaces to show up in the thread search. If your numbers don't show up in the thread search I have to find winners manually. Your number list must be 'Number Bulleted', do this by clicking on 'Go Advanced' and making it into a numbered list.

This is a genuine functioning lottery, I know that Justg (a member of the development team for those that don't know) is aware of it.

Numbers will be generated using the ingame /roll feature once client 1.3 (Pocket Legends: Adventures) is approved by Apple, and are therefore secure from any tampering by me or anyone else (they are generated by the server not the player/client).

The money will be stored on a separate character (PocketLottery) and therefore not mixed with any of the characters I actually play with, this character has been created for use with the Pocket Lottery only.

Although the draw is still about 3 weeks away, this should help to build a substantial jackpot, and the more people that take part, the more likely someone will win.

So gamble away and don't worry about being scammed, even if I tried to run away with the money I'd get banned, the money would be traced and returned to it's rightful owner(s).

The way the lottery will work is the cost of the lottery is (700) and if you are interseted in lottery, you must reply to this post so that I can meet with you in pocket legends and so that you can give me the gold to enter the lottery. I am an active member to this site and will reply to your posts the same day you post them, or the day after you post.

It's like many lotteries, you select a set of numbers (3 in this case) from a certain range (1-15 for this lottery) to enter into the draw. You can buy as many entries as you want.

On the 22nd, in town, I will use the in game /roll command to draw 3 numbers from 1-15 and one bonus number from 1-15, they cannot be duplicate numbers so the rolls will continue until a unique set has been found.

Depending on how many numbers you match in one of your entries, you win a prize, the more you match the bigger the prize. You have to match multiple numbers in a single entry to be eligible for a prize basically.

011015 Will show up in search for 01,11,10 and 15. Also, shouldn't we pick 4 numbers (the bonus ball). What is that supposed to match to, one of the original numbers? You should also mention if this is a for profit lottery, which I would highly doubt as you are already dumping an extra 50K of your own money in, or if all money entered will be eventually paid out (I really like the idea of adding the roll over). I say this because there are some for profit lotteries creeping up on the forums which is fine, but if this is a all money is paid out lottery, should make sure people know. Oh, and I will be entering.

First off, this is a non-profit lottery, 100% of the takings will be used to pay prize money

Second, with spaces the numbers don't show up under a search, unless you can figure out a way?

Lastly, like a bonus ball lottery, the bonus number is an extra chance, so only comes into play when you match less numbers than a jackpot win, so 2 + bonus number or 1 + bonus number. Otherwise it would be a necessity to win the jackpot, also the odds would be much lower to match 4 numbers.
