:vD: First is Dark Legends official announcement:

---------------------------------------
Third Legends Title Is Major Evolution in Casual and Avid Gameplay
Spacetime Studios takes its mobile and desktop Legends franchise into a frightening new world with Dark Legends (http://darklegends.com). Players will embrace the secret societies of vampires to challenge the hordes of undead, werewolves, demons and humans that hunt them. The title will be released for Android, iOS and Chrome in the first quarter of 2012.
Fans of the popular Legends franchise, Pocket Legends (http://pocketlegends.com) and Star Legends (http://starlegends.com), will discover a gameplay evolution in Dark Legends that draws them even deeper into the experience. The combat system delivers fast paced, action oriented gameplay that includes new mechanics such as charge attacks and the ability to drain enemies. A wide breadth of solo and multiplayer content will also be available.
The most significant change is a much deeper focus on narrative. In addition to story communicated during the 3D multiplayer missions, players will periodically be given the option to complete quick action missions with a single tap. These missions use brief cut scenes to create an interactive storybook, where players experience the life of a vampire up-close and personal.
The company’s goal for Dark Legends is to combine casual, strategic advancement content with their award winning real-time 3D multiplayer system to create a blend of gameplay never before seen.
“With each entry to the Legends franchise we raise the bar for the pick-up-and-play MMO space,” said Gary Gattis, CEO, Spacetime Studios. “The changes between Pocket Legends and Star Legends were significant, but Dark Legends is a quantum leap forward in interactive storytelling! Players can live the dark fantasy anytime, anywhere, with anyone.”
Dark Legends opens with the player recently raised and under the direction of the vampire that sired them. The secret existence of vampires has been exposed and angry, misguided humans are uniting to exterminate the undead plague by any means necessary. Players must work with their clan to survive this brutal new world.
The previous Legends titles, fantasy Pocket Legends and sci-fi Star Legends: The Blackstar Chronicles have been downloaded more than seven million times, making it the world’s largest mobile MMO franchise.
About Spacetime Studios
Spacetime Studios is an independent game development studio located in Austin, Texas. The company was founded in late 2005 by online game veterans Cinco Barnes, Gary Gattis, Jake Rodgers and Anthony L. Sommers.
In 2010, Spacetime released Pocket Legends, the world’s first cross-platform, 3D, persistent mobile MMO. The game’s pick-up-and-play format, expandable nature, and unparalleled instanced gameplay have propelled it to become a landmark title on Apple and Android-based mobile devices. In 2011, Spacetime became the first MMO publisher in history to allow people to play the same game together on desktop computers, smart phones and tablets.
Spacetime has been recognized by Develop as one of the world’s 100 most successful game studios. The company continues to expand its content and technology lead in the mobile multiplayer market.
:vblush: Will beta be for chrome?:
At the end of the day, the game is being designed for mobile. While we will bring it to desktops, we're likely to focus on a mobile beta. Again, no guarantees as to how the beta will shape up.
:vshock: Will beta be for ios(apple)?:
Given the limitations of releasing beta products on the Apple App Store, we are not likely to pursue a beta phase on that platform. We are unrestricted on the Android Marketplace to release beta apps and we will probably go that route again.
Hey! You should expect a similar structure for DLs release. Apple's approval system is just too restrictive for us to do anything close to a beta on it (they don't even accept beta apps). We need the flexibility that the Android market grants us to ensure a smooth release.
:vsmile: When does Dark Legends release?:
Launch is going to slip into April. Just is what it is. Thanks heaps for following us and for your enthusiasm for Dark Legends!
:vcry: What are the hardware requirements?:
STS has not yet released any information on hardware requirements but sam did say this.
We haven't announced specific requirements of the game. However, I can say that the art team is turning out some awesome looking stuff that will likely need some good horsepower to run. I don't know that the iPad1 is one of the devices we currently support that might not have enough horsepower. I think devices that fall in the "lack of horsepower" camp are old 2nd generation iPhones and iPod touches, for example.
Sorry matey, we're not likely to have the bandwidth to compile such a list. The main devices we're knowingly dropping support for are those playing on 1st and 2nd gen iPod Touch and early iPhones (I believe earlier than a 3G, 3GS should still be playable). The art team keeps upping the bar and the play quality on those older devices is not really the best (if you can get it to run at all). The thing is, all the newer devices out there have soooo much horsepower that it's hard not to keep building stuff to make use of it. If you're buying something new, it will probably work fine. We have a number of Kindle Fires, Samsung Galaxy Tab and Dell tablets (among other stuff) here in the office and it plays well enough on them. I'm sure you'll be fine.
:vP: Is Dark Legends going to be different than Star Legends and Pocket Legends?:

Dark Legends looks quite a bit different from Pocket Legends and has it's own, very vampiric, style.
:vlol: Is Empire of Night Dark Legends?:
To be clear, Empire of Night is NOT Dark Legends. The Empire of Night video is from 2009 when Spacetime Studios was working on different PC game title ideas.
:vD: What races/classes are in Dark Legends?:
Playable races: Vampires
Playable classes: Vampires (there's skill trees yay that means ultimate customization of characters)
Classes/races? Sorry, but this isn't PL or SL. You get to play a freakin Vampire :D
Edit: that isn't to say that there is no customization - there is. We have to save something to talk about in the future :D

You can follow Dark Legends on twitter @darklegends for some of the latest DL info or follow them on Facebook.

Dark Legends: If you're following us on Facebook, you'll have some of the first chances to play the Beta when we get to that stage. We're glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for your support!
:vsmile: Dark Legends offical website has been updated:
Hey everyone, we've updated the Dark Legends Website to include the new teaser trailer video and some descriptive text.
Check it out! http://darklegends.com
:vP: Why is new content for PL and/or SL taking so long? Because their making PL/SL/DL awesome.
As we launch Dark Legends, we will be dedicating Live Teams to SL and PL so the content flow should drastically increase. Thanks for your patience and hang in there! Maybe go level in PL for a bit?
Hey gang,
I get a pretty steady stream of questions asking about when the next content and level cap raise will be coming for Pocket Legends and/or Star Legends. It is still a little ways out. We know new content is always enjoyed - especially when it rocks. So, we're taking time to make sure it rocks. We're also taking time to make Dark Legends super awesome. While we talk mad skills sometimes, we're not a 1,000 person company - more like 35. All of us are working hard for your business! Thanks as always for your continued support :)

:vblush:Will Dark Legends have premium characters?
I'm going to go out on a limb here and tell you yes, there will be premium characters available for when you create your character. Of course, I'm not the guy who has to actually implement that feature, so there is the possibility that it might not happen. But, it's probably a safe bet ;)
:vmad:Amazon is getting a two week start on DL
Hey everyone,
I wanted to chime in regarding the 2 week Amazon exclusive for Dark Legends on the Kindle Fire that is mentioned in the Massively.com article. We know that you want to get Dark Legends as soon as they can. While I don’t have further details to release about exclusive periods, know that we always want to do right by our fans. We will give as many ways for you to get your hands on the game as we can.
Also, just to reiterate for those with iOS devices, Apple doesn't allow beta periods, exclusive access or any of that. So, our hands are tied on that front - if you're waiting for Dark Legends on iOS, it will be after any exclusive periods are over.
As others have surmised above, this is similar how Star Legends was available first via Verizon vcast.
:vsmile:New info from Ten Ton Hammer
New Info from here http://www.tentonhammer.com/gdc2012/...s/dark-legends

Two years ago at GDC, Spacetime Studios CEO Gary Gattis spilled three iPhones onto a table in a crowded hotel lobby, inviting Ten Ton Hammer’s Ben de la Durantaye and myself to join him in a then super-secret mobile MMO project, Pocket Legends, the first of its kind. Little did we realize that Spacetime was just tuning up. At GDC 2012, Gary and friends demoed their third, most ambitious, and most bloody title yet, Dark Legends.
“This is easily the most violent game I’ve ever worked on,” Gary explained. Player feedback from Pocket Legends and Star Legends revealed a hardcore segment that wanted blood. Cue the trailer, complete with the sultriest rendering of “House of the Rising Sun” I’ve ever heard and a gusher of blood sucked into pale, pouty lips. The tagline: “Wanna play?” This is not your typical mobile game trailer fare.
Dark Legends is riding a wave of vampiric popularity stemming from Twilight and True Blood, though Gary is quick to note that Dark Legends draws much more from the latter than the former. (Gary’s promise: “No sparkly vampires.”) Skimpily clad hedonism dominates every moment of the game, from The Club (a social area where players can stash their stuff and pickup RMT goods like skimpy maid outfits) to active vignettes (actual cutscenes – rare in a mobile game - where players perform quick actions on an unlock timer such as glamming a target or stalking a neighborhood) to gameplay areas, where a variety of combat actions shows just how dark Dark Legends can be.
Combat in Dark Legends will be familiar to players of the first two Spacetime titles, with a few key differences. Health and energy pools have been combined into a single blood pool that (vampires being vampires) can be refilled by following occasional prompts to “drain” enemies. Draining causes your vampire character to rush forward and, not without some shudder factor, relieve your opponent of his or her bodily humours.
Your character’s other four attacks can be charged with a press and hold mechanic new to the Legends games. Skill trees allow players to specialize their characters for use in groups, and the map screen allows you to quickly see where your friends are playing and join in. Finally, achievements will allow players to track and compare their progress.
A look at a character models, combat, and powers in Dark Legends.
But the biggest differentiating factor is playfully gory and Gothic air that permeates the game experience. Gary explained that the story is culled from an original IP envisioned by one of Spacetime’s designers called Empire of Night. The setup is similar to the most recent Underworld movie in that humanity is aware of the existence of vampires and is actively seeking their eradication. A human, Kriegsburg, experiences terrible loss at the hands of vampires and declares a sort of jihad against them. Some humans turn to the dark arts to further this aim, and werewolves are (of course) thrown into the bargain.
Players are at the core of the conflict, alternately trying to survive and to further the bloody-minded aims of the emerging vampire nation. And if you’re ready to take a step toward the seductively sanguine in your mobile MMO gaming, you won’t have long to wait. According to Gary, Dark Legends will be in beta within two months (SAM is awsome this is wrong), then will release first on the Kindle Fire, then Android, then iOS and the Chrome browser soon after that.
Our thanks to Gary Gattis, Fernando Bianco, and the Spacetime Studios crew for taking some time out of hectic GDC schedules to update us on the darker side of mobile global MMO gaming.
:vcry: DLs release date is not set in stone... yet:

The bottom line is that Dark Legends is coming soon. We've been deliberately vague about the exact release date or details (because such is not set in stone... yet)
:vblush:Which platforms does DL release first on?
1. ????????- we really don't know yet.
2. Android.
3. IOS (Apple).
4. Google Chrome- last but not least.
:vcry: A new teaser trailer for DL is here and this video "sucks" big time:
Another video teaser... this time, in game footage of your Vampire doing what it does best, drinking blood! :vshock:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxspmTaNgUY
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxspmTaNgUY
From the moment of their dark resurrection, all Vampires are possessed by "The Thirst:" a compulsive need to drink the blood of the living. The drinking of blood replenishes the Vampires' health and vitality. Living blood imparts superior strength, incredible speed and extreme durability to the Vampire. Blood also enables Vampires to project devastating 'Blood Magic' spells!
Each enemy that is defeated in combat fuels the Vampires' need to FEED! As the Vampire racks-up kills, their ability to Feed on enemies "charges-up!" When it is 'ready,' the Vampire can leap onto an unsuspecting enemy and drain them of their life-giving blood.
:vshock: Another new teaser trailer this one showing off charging attacks:
Check out this teaser video revealing how your Vampire can charge up their powers!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYF2Wiz-vJw
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYF2Wiz-vJw
A Vampires' strength flows from the Blood that he drains from enemies in combat. Vampires can command this stolen life-essence to create a searing storm of demonic hatred! This rage-filled Blood is then used to charge the Vampire's Powers... making them even more explosive and devastating!
The most dramatic, most powerful attacks require the greatest amount of Blood and the longest period of time to charge-up. As a result, Vampires must balance their unending Thirst for Blood with the overwhelming violence (and effectiveness) of charged Powers as they ravage the nightscapes of Carvina.
Dark Legends is poised for release, coming soon to your Android or iOS mobile device and desktop machines via the Chrome Browser.
:vshock: Skelly found some info saying DL will have 10 worlds:
Another website reveals that their will be 10 worlds, http://www.360-faces.de/2012/03/dark-legends-preview/
Quoted:
"In Dark Legends, you play as your own created vampiress and take it through the campaign that consists of 10 worlds, each made up of about a dozen or so smaller levels and events. You have your own crypt to return to when you want to purchase new clothes or skins, but most of the game takes place in these quest lines. Each of the 10 available worlds has a series of levels you have to complete; most are just simple events like “press this button to enter building” or “investigate this old alleyway” with a time delay meter and usage of energy like in most browser based or facebook apps. Once you’ve made it through a few of these events, you’re then put into a completely different gameplay mode that has you walking around in a 3D realm like more traditional MMO’s."
:vmad: What will Dark Legends be rated?
Each market (iOS, Android, Chrome) has their own rating system. The game will be rated Mature.
:vwub: Six days of vampire powers!
Day 1:
Not all Vampires are the same. Hardly! The blood flows differently in each, each with their own lineage, secrets and powers. As you delve deeper and experience more, you will have the opportunity to configure your own special vampire powers. Choose wisely what you spend your time and ability on. Only the few ancients can master them all.
Dark Legends features a ‘Power Tree’ system – which allows players to choose skills individually, and beyond the restrictions imposed by previous Legends titles. Over the next six days we will explore different powers that you may choose to specialize in. For the first, we delve deeper into the appropriately named FATAL BURST!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0M43piuTGU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0M43piuTGU
Vampires have dominion over the blood of the living (including the semi-lifeless blood that flows within the husks of undead). In combat, a Vampire can command living blood to BURST out of a target's internal organs. The resulting carnage is... devastating!
Day 2:
Not all Vampires are the same. Hardly! The blood flows differently in each, each with their own lineage, secrets and powers. As you delve deeper and experience more, you will have the opportunity to configure your own special vampire powers.

Powered by dark 'Blood Magic,' a Vampire can achieve super-human speeds and defy the laws of gravity. In particular, Vampires can soar high into the air - almost instantaneously - and subsequently crash into the ground. The impact causes a massive shockwave to emanate from the point of impact, knocking down foes in all directions.

Unfettered by the laws of physics, a Vampire has the ability to move at incredible speeds. A Vampire can race into position almost instantaneously - giving the enemy no chance to react, no chance for survival!
Day 6:
The sixth, and final in our series of Vampire power exploration - Unholy Force!
One of the Vampires' most useful techniques - a near-instantaneous spin, weapons extended, causes all surrounding enemies to take damage. When properly timed, this technique keeps enemies from ever getting within striking-distance of the Vampire.

Vampires have dominion over the blood of the living (including the semi-lifeless blood that flows within the husks of undead). In combat, a Vampire can command living blood to BURST out of a target's internal organs. The resulting carnage is... devastating!
