This should be implemented in PL.
More choices is always awesome.

I think the OP means your Real Life gender to be shown. Although I'd love to see class genders in PL, like SL has. I love playing a mix of characters.

Re: showing Real Life Genders. It would be nice occasionally but i'm thinking the argument to keep them hidden far outweighs the argument for showing them.

If this was to ever be considered then it should definitely be optional.

I have a feeling there would be lots of females out there who would be very happy it remains as it is. Being a mage I get hit on by young males frequently in in the lower level townes, although a "speak to my wife" normally brings the conversation back swiftly.

Real life genders in game are a big no for me.

So many people...asking, "Are there any girls here?" Sometimes my friends think it funny (and it is XD) to say, "Roc is a girl!" and then 20 questions gets played :p It might be a nice option but not a requirement.

I generally look at the name. If it sounds girly, in my mind they are a girl. If it sound guyish... then they are a guy. Until I'm told otherwise. :)

I think of my mages as "she"... Somehow I do not feel like I am them...

I think of all your characters as "she" Katy boy....not from the way they look, but the manner in which they are played. LOL.

If I were female I would probably be pretending I was male here in order to avoid being trolled. And it is well known that some males pretend they are female, too, though I don't know why. Once, on another message board, I tried to obscure my gender by using generic terms like "my spouse" and such, and nobody ever asked for over half a year.

One of the coolest things about the internet is that you can claim to be a totally different person. There was a guy on the Gran Turismo boards who would talk about going to buy a Dodge Viper, then later, trading it in on a 911. He would go into details that you would think only a real person would know. Then one day, who knows why, he apologized to everyone and left forever saying that he was really 16 and had no money.

Maybe it's just me, I don't know, but it seems that this is a wonderful thing. Our lives are 90% fiction anyway. We only see our own side in a fight. Our brains can only choose one or two sensory inputs at a time, out of the billion facts that hit our sense. We construct our own reality. As the bard says, "We are such stuff / As dreams are made on, and our little life / Is rounded with a sleep."

So I say, take advantage of the opportunity and be someone else. Be an Avian Archer. Are they male or female? Who cares. Who can tell!? They mate by cloacal opposition! It's messy business. Do you think that eagle looks male? Based on what? There is a female bear face. I have it on one of my bears, Artio, named after the Celtic Bear Goddess.

People do this. They pretend to be something they are not, especially in a game. Isn't that the whole point?

Anyway, if there was some mars/venus zodiac icon to indicate gender, some guys would pick female. I don't think the devs want to go there!
