Purchase items as gifts for others question

I have a question and hopefully won't be made fun of. lol
Is it possible to buy a plat item like the Dark legends vanity shield for a friend?
I would really like to buy it for an amazing friend just to see them smile.
I am not talking about buying and selling items for gold just to be clear.
I have a feeling the answer is no since they can't be traded, but I am just hoping
there is a way. Maybe charge me extra plat or something....

Now that would be a cool idea. Unfortunately, it would be impossible for STS to prevent gold for plat items.

I more I think about it the more it really shouldn't be allowed.
I just love playing dress up with my twin.
Twins are so much fun.

I was just thinking though on the lines of gold for plat items that they don't fully try.
Thank god for me cause I would of been in hot water. I borrowed an item from a friend to craft it
into the lilith cowl. Now while I did this to help and not for gold or any other reason (Yes I like helping my friends)
if they would have locked it as mine after buying recipe and crafting it how would I explain that one......
omg that would have been bad!!!!
