It's very possible you did see the new shield. You gotta remember people from around the world play this game and people on the other side of the world (more specifically australia) will have the capability to buy the shield long before people on our side of the world (the US for me).

I think dotd changes only when devs change item in store, it's not automatical change. Thats why same offer sometime goes "overtime"
