Not sure if it was meant to be like that but, people on your friend list are able to join your password protected games without needing to enter a password.
Can be a little annoying at times when you just want to farm alone.

Yeah it has been discussed before. Don't know if its intentional or not.

It's probably intentional, choose the people you add wisely.

Friends being allowed to join without a password is intentional. Presumably you want to play with your friends. =P
We may add an option in the future to require the password even for friends, but it's not in the immediate future.
