I think it would be a good idea to have a "bidding" system on items held by banned players, where the highest bidder wins and the gold is paid into the game (not going to a player). This would be a good gold sink, and it would also keep prices on old vanities/collectible items at more reasonable levels. I understand this might not be possible though, because some of their items might have been obtained through fraud.
