Both my school and church is involved in invisible children! Also another cool program to help serve is: Feed My Starving Children. You pack and send out food to the needy it'd pretty cool!

The comments on the youtube video makes me sick. They are trying to save lives and people are calling them liars, scammers, and more. Some people can be so heartless, I grimace. I support this campaign. All we have to do is raise awareness.

You dont know how sick I feel for laughing at that. XD

On a more serious note, I fully support this campaign and even if only 1-third of the money does go to the kids (which I hope its a bit more to be honest) I still know im helping the kids forced to ruthlessly kill. I support it, I posted it to FB, im even thinking of buying an action kit. Cant help but feel sorry for them, poor kids.

There is a video on the first post btw lol. His name is Joseph Kony. Leader of the LRA who kidnap children and force them to kill. The video name is Kony 2012.

That whole 'they only spent 31% of there money on the charity' information is, to be honest, bs. People got that off some well-worded tumblr post and simply said 'seems legit!'.

RedRyder

It's a non profit, so they don't pocket any of the money themselves, unless they use it to fund the posters bracelets etc.

Im very skeptical about this campaign

Suentous PO
03-08-2012, 09:02 PM
Skepticism is good, generally. In this case the bid gets some things wrong such as, K isn't in Uganda and hasn't been for 6 years. At one point they say he has a child army of 30k, when the entire group now is in the hundreds not thousands. Also they have been criticized for their finances, which is a good thing to explore. The Lra are no longer in Uganda as I have read. I'm not hatin on it and I'd like to think it's all on the up an up, just sayin learn from divergent sources.

Actually it is some what true, may not be for KONYs case, but for the big charities, its less than that. around 80%+ goes to funding for events or paying employees.
have you ever gone and asked how much CEOs or any employees earn? They'll never tell you.
Of every dollar you donate, less than 50c goes into their actual purpose.
hat, I got from my accounting lecture :/ there is an article on that where they go undercover to their training sessions for their fieldwork employees.

Next time I donate, ill be asking where the dollar goes and how much of it. If they can't give me a solid answer, they've lost a donator.

They are a group. And even though they are a non-profit organization, they still have to be payed. Yeah, the only 31% went to their charity, but what about the trips to visit the children over there, the meetings with the government, the salary, the merchandise, and the constant traveling around the country to get this guy out. Regardless of the funds, they are working diligently to get a sinister man out of power.

Meh, I'd rather not get into how this org is iff.

The real deal here is to spread the word about Kony. If you're gonna donate to the cause, there are many other orgs that help in Uganda.
