View Full Version : Lvl 65 Talon? and other gear questions

My primary question is this...

Is there a decent Talon available at lvl65 or are we stuck with only the bows/fangs/dagger?

Daggers are great for clearing, and bows are typically good for the bosses, but sometimes you just want something where you can have the shield AND some range. I think it's pretty crappy that they have no Talon set, but you can get a fang set, with worse damage than a dagger, and no shield to make up for it.

I've search the CS for lvl 65 talons, but have never seen one. I see some lvl 61/63 gold/greens, but never any 65, and never any purple/pink. Do they exist?


Other questions is just verification really...

Vampyr gear does NOT provide a set bonus. is that correct?

unfortunately there are no good talons in mt fang :( only crappy ones. The closest thing (IMO) you will find to a talon in fang is a wand, and they require int... sorry to disappoint you!

EDIT vampyr does NOT give set bonuses

thanks for the info. Looks like I'm stuck with a green talon for a while.

I usually run with a dagger/wing, sometimes I bust out a bow for bosses, but usually not. I just like to have 1 set with really high armor/dodge for things like Emma. I don't have to be in her face with a talon, and so far, the green one I found has higher armor/dodge than the dagger, but not nearly as much damage.

I think they stopped talons cuz birds would be too strong with ranged auto and the extra armour, just a guess

Talons arent that good no matter your level or stats. It has a much lower damage than a sword or bow and if I blast shot you with a sword in hand but no auto it will do more dmg than if I do the same thing with a talon. They are no good for pvp but maybe you could fid some use in AOE if not too many people did that.

That isn't entirely true IMO. Lv 12, 15, 17, 45, and 50 bears mainly used talon in PvP and it seems pretty effective. It has lower damage than the bow, but you get a shield with it which adds an armor bonus. I guess it would be more play preference though.
